I am excited to play with awesome Blues/Funk guitarist Julian Burdock again as well as do some solo sets too with some kicking new original tunes! Kousuke is a talented man. A student of revered drummer Bobby Campbell and a diligent practitioneer who has big ears (musically speaking), the memory of an Elephant, learns quickly and can play an ecclectic mix of styles! The ideal candidate for Duality.
KAYOKO YUASA: Trombone
Kayoko was born in 1982 in Chiba prefecture and was introduced to trombone when at middle school, joining the school band. She went on to study under Osamu Matsumoto at Maundy Music College and since graduating now actively works professionally on sessions and recordings in and around Tokyo. She is currently a member of the fantastic Wuja Bin-Bin band too, a must see act in Japan....in addition to Innobassion of course ;) 
YOSHIAKI KAYANO: Trumpet/Flugel
Yoshiaki currently plays numerous sessions, recordings and performances throughout Japan both on Trumpet, Flugel, and Ukelele. As well as being a professional performer Yoshiaki is also a great teacher. You can check his website out here. |
Danny M's Duality/InnobassionDuality/ Innobassionは、ダニーMスチュアートの新しいプロジェクトで、ベース&ボーカルと、ドラムの二人編成のDUOです。
ポップなメロディーに、ファンク、ラテン、レゲエのリズムエッセンスを取り込んだ多種多様な曲を演奏します。 ダニーは、個性的なベーシストで、ボーカルも同時にすることによって、グルーブとメロディーとハーモニーをつくりだします。 ソロパートでは、ホーンセクションのようにパーカッシブかつ流れるような表情に富んだスタイルで演奏します。 ボーカルを同時にこなすなかなかめずらしいスタイルなので、一見の価値アリでしょう！！ 今回、ドラマーには高橋コウスケを迎えました。彼は、ダニーのアレンジに対応しうる多彩なリズムセンスと、しっかりとしたグルーブを持っています。 心地良いグルーブと歌で、ダンサブルなステージを是非お楽しみください！ Duality is Danny's live project; a unique Bass guitar and vocal driven crossover-pop power duo. The duo showcases Danny's unique multi-part bass playing style, fluid horn like solos and bustling grooves. Most songs have no backing tracks or loops as accompaniment, (although a looper is employed on a few); so much of what is heard at live performances is purely just one bass, vocals and drums! Duality's performances and Danny's playing have, despite the band's relatively recent start, been dubbed as "high level", with vocals likened to Sting, solo phrasing and scat style to George Benson, and general style as eclectic and enthusing with appeal to a wider audience and age range. The energy, sheer technique, coordination and dedication that goes into Duality performances makes it exciting to watch. Many bassists have their party trick pieces, but Duality's premise is not about party pieces, it's about playing musical (not necessarily technical, or fast), parts simultaneously with vocals. With over two hours worth of material that's a lot of different stuff going on with many textures achieved by employing various techniques such as harmonics, tapping, slapping, classical techniques, chordal playing, and more. ダニーは10年前LONDONに住んでました、プロ ベース やりました、世界に色な国行きました 色な 音楽やりました、ジャズ、フアンク、ロク、ソカ、ソウコウス、ラテン、ほかの コンテムポラリ ムジク。ダニはコンポジングやります、ゲームとテレビのジンぐるとBGMを作りますていうのことです。コンポジシオン ぺージ 見てください。あとは ダニが 色な 楽器弾きますのこともできます。ピアノ、ギター、ドラム、もできますから、一人できょくをつくりますもできますね！ Danny is first and foremost a bassist, who spent many years touring as a professional player around various parts of the globe playing World, Jazz, Funk, Soukous, Soca, Latin, Drum n Bass and other amalgams of modern contemporary music. supporting DJs (including Jeff Mills, Andy Weatherall), Working with the Netherlands Blazers Ensemble and Real World Records (as bassist for Ayub Ogada), Co-writing with Jehlisa Andersen, accompanying actress and vocalist Kate Dimbleby in theatrical production about Peggy Lee, and much more. Secondly Danny is a composer, (see the composition page for more on this). And thirdly he is a multi instrumentalist with piano, guitar, drums, percussion and vocal skills to add to the mix. Now Danny lives in Tokyo with his growing family and gigs with Duality, teaches and composes. Contact Duality for bookings.ブキング コンタクト A brief history of Duality/InnobassionDuality was formed in August 2011 when Danny happened upon Kousuke's drumming skills after auditioning a few candidates for this unique and challenging project.
Kousuke had little experience live, however, had definite talent and ability in a broad range of styles which was exactly what Danny was after. The match was ideal for Danny as his ambition to play live multi-bass parts and sing simultaneously is a dream rekindled, and one that requires much practice. So, working with Kousuke meant growing and developing musically and in skill, and learning together. In late 2012 Duality teamed up with trumpeter extrodinaire, Yoshiaki Kayano, and have since played a number of shows with him. Horns are being added, with the advent of Yoshiaki inviting guest Trombonist Kayoko Yuasa of the fantastic Wuja Bin Bin band, who absolutely tore it up on her first gig with Duality with NO rehearsal whatsoever. Now that these excellent musicians are joining us we decided to rename the collective to "Innobassion" as the Dual part from Duality no longer applies! This name also reflects Danny's unusual and unorthodox multi-part bass playing style.
